26-year-old Gracie is a blogger best known for her curvy figure. She recently however, encountered an issue which she thought she needs to bring to the public’s attention; airline seats!
She made a video that she posted on Instagram to let people know what her problem was. She feels that airplanes are not designed for people with curvy figures. The airplane aisle, seat, and seatbelt are all not designed for people that have her proportions. She wanted airlines to address her complaints and provide a solution for them.
Gracie Bon from Panama posted the video in which she wanted to highlight how women who are curvy have a hard time fitting into the seats of the airlines.
In the video, she could be seen upset as she struggled to put on her seatbelt on the plane. Later in the video, she can be seen on a moving walkway in an airport as she says her piece, “Airplanes are too small for big people. It’s 2024. Bodies are changing, so planes should too. I won’t lose my butt to fit on a plane. So give me another solution, or just make the seats bigger.”
Bon further explained her point, “So today I had a flight and even if I was flying in first class, I couldn’t fit on the airplane — so this is a petition for all the airlines so big girls like me can fly.”
She has a big bottom and wanted the airline to consider making their seats bigger. She said, “Please just make them bigger.”
Gracie’s Instagram video went viral and got over 81K likes. There were lots of comments where people did not agree with Gracie and did not believe her to be in the right.
One person wrote in the comemnts, “Buy two seats instead of one; clearly, you’ve got plenty of money to afford them.” Whole another added, “Whose fault is it? No one forced you to get the surgeries.”
But there were more people who agreed with her. One person wrote in agreement, “Agreed. I definitely need a larger seat and a seatbelt that doesn’t have such a hard buckle.” Another person defending Gracie’s point of view saying, “The only surgery she has had was a tummy tuck. Her hips are naturally that large.”
Gracie has been open about having had a tummy tuck surgery. She has shared pictures of her before-and-after from the surgery and it is noticeable that her thighs were always that size!
She went on to explain, “And even so, many tell me: ‘but if you had loved it, you would have stayed like this and not changed anything about you.’ The truth is that I loved my body so much that I wanted to take care of it and decided to save myself, I didn’t like my knee pain, not being able to breathe properly or rejection from my ex-partner at that time, so I did everything possible to lose weight,” Gracie said.
