Shannen Doherty’s Mom Opens Up About Her Daughter’s Death And Their Final Public Photo Together

Many people were shocked when they heard that Shannen Doherty had died. She had been open about her long battle with cancer, but it still came as a surprise to most of her fans.

Now, Shannen Doherty’s mother is opening up and speaking about her daughter in a touching tribute. She has been deeply affected by the loss of her daughter and it was amazing to hear her words.

Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13 after a battle with cancer. She was only 53 years old. Her mother, Rosa, was by her side during the struggle and is grateful for what Doherty’s fans gave to her.

She said: “She is my beautiful girl and my heart. Our family wants to thank everyone who has shown love and support for our Shannen throughout her life. We are truly appreciative.”

Her publicist, Leslie Sloan, confirmed the death of Doherty, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.

“The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”

During her last outing, she was surrounded by her good friend, Chris Cortazzo, and Rosa, her mother. They were seen out walking in Malibu, California.

They ate at Kristy’s waterfront restaurant, which is known for offering beautiful views of the area. It was somehow fitting for being Shannen’s final outting in public.

The pictures showed her and those with her enjoying the evening. Chris was holding her with his arm around her shoulder and they were dressed casually for the occasion.

Chris is also deeply touched by his friend’s passing. He shared a tribute video on Instagram that showed just how much his ‘beloved friend and heart’ meant to him.

Chris reflected on their time together, calling her his “protector, best friend, and divine wife.” He also shared: “My heart is shattered,” and then concluded with, “I love you forever, my sweet dear friend.”

In speaking with Chris about her possible death, Shannen said that she only wanted 3 people at her funeral, her mom, her dog Bowie, and Chris. She also wanted it to be a celebration of life and love, similar to a party.

We wish all those who are going through this difficult loss will find some peace in her wishes.
