Cheesecake is a sweet that can be tailored to any flavor choice because it is made with a mixture of cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and other ingredients. Any sweet appetite will be satisfied by a piece of cheesecake, whether it is served simple, covered with fresh fruit, drizzled with caramel or chocolate sauce, or served any other way.
Here’s a simple recipe for a classic cheesecake:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 32 oz. of cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 cup of sour cream
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Mix the graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Make sure it’s packed tightly and evenly.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream.
- Pour the mixture into the crust.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 30 minutes.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and run a knife around the edges to loosen it from the pan.
